Trying to Stay Faithful While Feeling Overwhelmed with School

Lately, school has been… a lot.

Not just assignments and deadlines, but the feeling of constantly trying to keep up. Like no matter how much I do, there’s always something else waiting.

And if I’m being honest, it’s been affecting me more than I expected.

There are moments where I feel overwhelmed, tired, and honestly just not enough. Like I should understand things faster, do better, or have it all together by now.

But I don’t.

At the same time, I’m trying to stay grounded in my faith.

Trying to pray.
Trying to trust God.
Trying not to let stress take over.

But sometimes it feels like those two things clash —
like I’m trying to be strong in my faith while also feeling mentally drained.

And I think that’s the part people don’t always talk about.

Following God doesn’t mean everything suddenly becomes easy.

Sometimes it looks like:

  • showing up even when you’re tired

  • praying even when your mind feels scattered

  • trusting God even when you feel overwhelmed

Matthew 11:28

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Not when everything is perfect.
Not when you have it all together.

But when you’re weary.

And right now, I am.

📖 Joshua 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

This verse has been grounding me.

Because even in classrooms, late nights, stress, and pressure…
God is still there.

Not just in peaceful moments.
Not just when I feel strong.

But in the middle of confusion, anxiety, and trying.

🌿 Devotional Reflection

Maybe this season isn’t about having everything together.

Maybe it’s about learning how to stay with God
even when your mind feels overwhelmed.

Maybe it’s about realizing that strength doesn’t always look like confidence —
sometimes it looks like continuing.

Continuing to try.
Continuing to show up.
Continuing to trust God, even when your emotions don’t match your faith.

God isn’t waiting for you to be less stressed before He shows up.

He’s already with you in it.

In your assignments.
In your thoughts.
In the moments you feel like you’re falling behind.

You are not doing this alone.

So if you’re in a season like this too…

Trying to balance school, life, and your faith
Trying not to fall behind
Trying to stay strong when you feel stretched thin

You’re not alone.

And more importantly, you’re not failing.

You’re growing.

A Simple Prayer

God,
You see how overwhelmed I feel right now.
You see the pressure, the stress, and the moments where I feel like I’m not enough.

Help me to remember that I don’t have to carry this on my own.
Give me peace in the middle of everything I’m trying to balance.
Strengthen me when I feel tired.

Remind me that You are with me wherever I go — even here, even now.

And help me to keep going, one step at a time.

Amen. 💛
